Danesmoor House Day Nursery is owned and operated by Claire and Adrian – both Qualified Teachers. Claire qualified as a Geography Teacher and then moved into special needs education where she was head of an inclusion unit for students with moderate and severe learning needs, attached to a mainstream school. It was during this time she gained a Masters Degree in Special Needs Education.
Adrian, also originally a Geography teacher, was a member of the Senior Management Team in a large secondary school.
After the birth of their first child in 2003, Claire and Adrian wanted to set up a nursery as it was important to them that other mums, dads and carers felt confident that they were choosing the right setting for both their child and for them. Claire retrained as an Early Years Professional (the equivalent of a teaching qualification in Early Years) and they did just this.
All four of their children were cared for within the nursery and they have never looked back
More importantly, Claire and Adrian ensure that the staff they employ are first rate: “We are committed to staff training and all practitioners are encouraged to continue their professional development. We currently have a number of Graduate Practitioners working within our setting, including a Qualified Early Years Teacher within our pre-school and a Qualified Art Teacher as our Artist in Residence and we encourage all staff to continue striving to be the best they can be.
Having highly motivated staff helps ensure that your child is looked after by practitioners that know how to support your child and create an environment that promotes caring, learning and development and gets them ready for their next big stage in their lives.”
